How to use the Nav

The CVC Navigator is your companion aboard the Starship Aurora: messages from the people you'll meet, the voyage schedule, side adventures, the map, and a record of everything you do. Here's every screen and what it's for.

The Nav is a bonus, never a requirement. Every Mission, scene and activity happens with or without a phone in your hand. If your Nav ever acts up, put it away and enjoy the moment. The Passenger Services Desk can help you catch up later.

The basics

The five screens

The bar along the bottom takes you to the Nav's five main screens.

Events
The voyage schedule, one tab per day (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). Tap an event marked with more details to read about it. Missions you've pre-registered on your Profile appear on their day, so your own plans sit right in the schedule.
Comms
Messages from the people aboard: the Chandrila Vacation Club, HoloNet News, the factions and the characters you'll meet. A channel with something new is marked as unread. Tap a channel to play its transmission. New ones arrive through the voyage, some at set times and some because of something you did.
Jobs
Side adventures you can take on whenever you like. Open a Job, read what's being asked, and accept it to begin. Jobs play out as a conversation, with puzzles along the way. Some start with a code or a word you'll pick up out in the world, and some need a few credit chips. Your place is saved, so you can stop and come back any time.
Map
Two maps: the Aurora and the Port of Call. Use the tabs at the top to switch.
Profile
Everything about you, in three tabs:
  • Info: your Passenger Name, your Pre-Registered Missions, Your Journey (Missions completed, factions joined, achievements), and your settings.
  • Inventory: what you've collected, like Voyage Stamps and credit chips, with your progress toward anything they unlock.
  • Achievements: Badges and Stars you've earned. Some stay hidden until you find them.

The ☰ menu

The menu button at the top right of every screen opens:

Codes and code words

Codes are hidden all over the ship and the Port of Call, printed in a SCAN CODE frame. Tap ☰ → Enter Code and type the digits. A code might log a discovery, add something to your Inventory, or start something new. Each code counts once per Nav, so entering it again won't give you a second one.

Code words come from the characters themselves. Type a code word wherever your Nav asks for it. Take a breath before you enter one: some choices can't be undone.

Code didn't work? Check the digits, and make sure you're typing a number in Enter Code and a word where a word goes.

Missions and factions

Things to collect

Voyage Stamps
Seven stamps wait at stops around the voyage. Collect any five to complete your Voyage Passport and unlock the Friends of Batuu keepsake digital poster by heCreative. It arrives in your CVC messages, ready to save to your phone. Nothing to pick up.
Credit chips
The Nav's currency. Find them around the ship and spend them to get certain Jobs moving.
Achievements
Earned by finishing things: Missions, Jobs, discoveries and more. Your Achievements tab keeps them all.

Make it yours

All of these are on Profile → Info and apply to this phone only.

Passenger Name
Type the name you'd like the characters to use, then tap Save Name.
Color Scheme
Slide across the color wheel to recolor the whole Nav. The left end is the standard violet. Turn on Color the Comms portraits to match to tint the character portraits too.
Sound
Sets the volume of button clicks, puzzle cues and other effects. 0% silences them.

If something looks wrong

  1. Make sure you opened the Nav from the icon, not a browser tab.
  2. Go to another screen and back, or close the Nav and reopen it.
  3. Get a signal (Wi-Fi or cellular) for a minute, then reopen it.
  4. See Nav update ready — tap to refresh at the bottom? Tap it.
  5. Schedule looks wrong? Turn on your phone's automatic date & time.
  6. Run the PreFlight Check from the ☰ menu.

Please don't clear your browser data, clear website data, or delete the Nav icon. Your whole story lives on your phone, and there is no backup copy anywhere.

Still stuck? Visit the Passenger Services Desk on the Aurora Main Concourse. Our crew are happy to help.
