- New to the Convention experience? Here’s some things to expect:
- FOMO is just part of the con experience! It’s impossible to do everything at any con experience – just like it was impossible to do everything on the Starcruiser!
- The good news is, that means lots of opportunity to do things! At almost every hour, you’ll have many exciting programming items to choose from. Just like on the Starcruiser, the choices you make will shape your experience!
- FOMO goes for the vendors room, too! No vendor can make 600 of every product that they have. Again: remember your Starcruiser experience. The Chandrila Collection was always out of something, right? But snag a vendor’s card and follow their work, and you might see something perfect for you at another time!
- Programming! (ICYMI)
- It’s on the app! It’s on the website! It’s available for PDF download in both light and dark mode!
- We will be working on updates up until the very end to give you the best possible experience in the App and on the website. Next up, attaching ALL presenter names to the sessions in the App (but for now you can see them in the PDF).
- If you’re having trouble with something like a blank screen, can’t reset your password, etc – reach out to help@eventzilla.net.
- Reminder about the types of programming:
- Presentations: One person or a group sharing material they prepared before the convention.
- Panels: 3-5 people with a moderator guiding the conversation. (Moderators are generally also panelists who take part in the conversation!)
- Roundtables: Anyone can show up and participate! These are open conversations guided by a moderator.
- Workshops and Gaming: These are active things! You might be on your feet (like for lightsaber training or acting workshops), you might be playing a game, you might be meditating – basically everything that isn’t “people talking” goes in here.
- Sabacc for Charity: Will have both open play sessions and a tournament on Saturday night. Donations will support Magic Wheelchair!
- Evening Activities: Friday and Saturday night, bars will be open!
- Presenters and Moderators: You will be receiving guidelines within the next week, as well as a link to populate your bio on the app. We’d particularly love to have a picture of you in there!
- It’s on the app! It’s on the website! It’s available for PDF download in both light and dark mode!
- Pre-Reg! (opening 9/22)
- The pre-reg form will live here.
- Reiterating the procedure, which we hope will give everyone the best possible chance at getting one of their top choices.
- Parents: There will be an option on the form to note if the person you’re signing up is a youngling who needs accompaniment (and whether said accompaniment will also be participating or just observing).
- Plenary sessions:
- Nothing else is going on at these times! These are in Salon AB, the big big room. We anticipate that they will go to Standing Room Only, so arrive in a timely fashion to get a seat! (We will have accessibility seats held aside in each room)
- We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming Kierna Connor, Briana Moten, and Mikhael Tara Garver from Culture House Immersive for these sessions!
- Cool things you can do on the app:
- View session information
- View speaker information
- Bookmark your choices and set reminders
- View the venue map!
- One more Live next week : Know Before You Go!
- Will have tips on checking in, navigating, getting to the hotel, etc.
